Use of EU pre-accession funds for rural development

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Goran Knezevic spoke today with Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert.
Knezevic and Degert spoke on the premises of the Directorate for National Reference Laboratories in Batajnica about the plans for further establishment of laboratory capacities in order to improve their work and broaden the scope of research.
The question of amendments to the Law on food safety currently in force has been also looked at in order to remove certain gaps in the law and thus improve the work of all relevant authorities.
Knezevic and Degert also spoke about Serbia’s rural development through the use of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in Rural Development (IPARD), reads a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.
