Strengthening international cooperation in field of migration management

State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Vladimir Bozovic said in Istanbul that Serbia is fighting against all forms of organised cross-border crime by creating new and strengthening existing institutions, and improving international police cooperation.

At the Budapest Process Ministerial Conference “Silk Routes Partnership for Migration” to be held in Istanbul, Bozovic said that Serbia, due to its geographical position as a transit country, is faced with illegal migration.
The State Secretary presented the measures that our country, which is on the White Schengen list already for four years, takes regarding false asylum seekers and their readmission.
He said that Serbia strongly supports the Istanbul Declaration which was adopted today at the event, and that is seriously committed to the implementation of the document.
The Istanbul Ministerial Declaration has as its main objective the establishment of partnerships in the field of migration on the Silk Route countries, the promotion of dialogue and cooperation in the management of migration flows, as well as defining them as a priority within the Budapest Process, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
