Cooperation of Serbia, Germany in field of judiciary

Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic spoke at the Ministry today with First Secretary for Economic Cooperation Affairs of the Embassy of Germany in Serbia Christoph Eichen and Head of the GIZ Project for Legal Reform Project in Serbia Mike Falke about future cooperation between Serbia and Germany in the field of justice.

The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Serbian Ministry of Justice and Public Administration and the German Ministry of Justice was agreed at the meeting, which would improve and expand cooperation between the two countries.

Selakovic expressed satisfaction with cooperation with GIZ to date, especially when it comes to support which GIZ provides in connection with the introduction of the system of private enforcement, as well as with the preparation of all necessary conditions for the introduction of a notary public in the Serbian judicial system.

The German delegation also praised the cooperation to date with the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, stating that the Ministry can count on all the necessary expert assistance from Germany, not only in terms of implementation of individual projects, but also in the development of strategic documents, such as the Action Plan accompanying the strategy for judiciary reform, the statement added.
