They talked about ways in which Serbian companies could get involved in the reconstruction of Iraq and the construction of new infrastructure projects in that country.
The Serbian delegation also visited the province of Wasit, where they met with the governor of the area, local authorities and a group of businessmen, who expressed their wish for Serbian companies to participate in construction operations in this province.
The potential projects include the construction of the motorway network, new schools, hospitals and residential areas.
Representatives of the two sides also signed a memorandum on technical cooperation, enabling Serbian companies in Iraq to open representative offices more easily.
The visit of the Serbian delegation was agreed during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic to Baghdad in November last year.
The delegation also included representatives of companies Energoprojekt, Napred, Putevi Uzice, Jedinstvo Uzice, Gosa Montaza, Antikor, Milinkovic Kompani and Bak d.o.o.
