The delegation of the World Bank included Head of the bank’s Belgrade Office Loup Brefort and Senior Public Sector Specialist and Team Leader Edgardo Mosqueira from Washington.
Selakovic expressed his gratitude for their cooperation to date and support to the projects that contribute to the improvement of the judiciary in Serbia.
On this occasion he said that the working groups of the Ministry have completed two national strategies - for judicial reform and the fight against corruption, and the next step is to develop action plans.
The Minister stressed that it is essential that these plans contain specific measures and ways to achieve the goals of the strategies, and to precisely define the instruments to monitor the effect of the degree of realisation of these goals in real life.
World Bank representatives expressed their willingness to support the development of action plans, especially in the domain of their financial effect on the justice system.
Also, they voiced support to all efforts undertaken by the Ministry in the field of free legal assistance, and positively evaluated the plans in the adoption of laws in this area, reads a statement by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
