The Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning said that the signing of this document sends a clear signal about the willingness of Serbia to cooperation with the United States, especially with the State of Illinois, where there is a significant number of immigrants from Serbia.
Also, this document reinforces cooperation with the city of Chicago, Illinois, with which Belgrade has formal cooperation through the town twinning since 2005.
Bacevic pointed out that this agreement is of strategic importance for Serbia, because of the fact that most of the Serbian diaspora in the United States live there and also because of major economic opportunities that exist in this part of America.
The Minister said that the agreement will raise the cooperation of Serbia and Illinois to a higher level.
After the signing of the Protocol, Bacevic travelled to Washington, where he will meet with representatives of large companies and institutes that deal with sophisticated technologies and different areas of scientific research.
