The protocol envisages cooperation of the two sides on the preparation of the feasibility study which will cover all elements of the project in the part passing through the Republic of Serbia, with a reference to the Republic of Macedonia and Greece.
The protocol also envisages the continuation of good cooperation of Serbia with the Chinese company, related to the assistance of Chinese experts and scientists in the geodetic and geomechanical research of the soil in our country.
This project, which would be of capital importance primarily for Serbia, but also for Macedonia and Greece, would also be very useful for the countries of Central and Western Europe, due to the fact that the channel through the River Danube would link the River Morava with the navigation channels Rhine-Main-Danube, Odra-Vistula and the Seine and the Rhone, and at the same time would open the exit to the Aegean Sea.
The issue of financing the Morava channel project was not examined during the talks.
During his visit to China, Bacevic visited the town Yichang, where the largest dam in China “Three Gorges“ was built, which is also one of the greatest undertakings of China Gezhouba Group Corporation, it is added in a statement by the Ministry.
