Serbian government condemns arrest of young Serbs in Gracanica

The Serbian government strongly condemns yesterday's violence in Gracanica when the Kosovo police arrested ten young men of Serbian nationality who attended the Christmas liturgy in the Gracanica monastery.
The Serbian government called on representatives of international missions in Kosovo-Metohija to release them and prevent such provocations by the extreme part of the Kosovo interim authorities aimed at intimidating Serbs and preventing dialogue and peaceful resolution of problems in the province.
Also, the Serbian government warns the international community that the local authorities in Kosovo prevent the celebration of Christian holidays and demands from KFOR, UNMIK and EULEX to, in accordance with their mandate, protect citizens in the southern province and ensure the respect for civil and religious liberties.
