Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic met today with representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Peter Burkhard, Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission Paula Thiede and executive adviser Giovanni Gabassi.
Selakovic pointed out to the problems that exist in the Serbian judiciary, adding that the process of judicial reform is not well established.
He noted that the Constitutional Court returned the unelected judges and public prosecutors into the justice system.
He presented the results of the ministry, and said that three national strategies are under construction – for reforming the judiciary, fight against corruption and reform of the public administration.
Burkhard said that one of the main priorities in Serbia must be the reform of the judiciary in order to ensure the independence of judges and the judiciary.
He praised the clear vision and the will of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration to improve the judicial system.
