At the meeting, it was agreed that Serbia will have a unique system of monitoring, information gathering and coordinated action in the event of natural disasters.
It was concluded that it is necessary to assess the readiness and effectiveness, as well as to control the companies in charge of road maintenance, and if necessary, hire additional equipment and resources in order to normalise traffic at the time of disasters.
Also, it was concluded that, in line with estimates, certain sections of roads should be completely closed for trucks.
Legal measures against organisations and individuals that do not fulfill their obligations should be taken.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Transport Milutin Mrkonjic, Head of the Sector for Emergency Situations Predrag Maric and and Head of the Traffic Police of the Ministry of the Interior Dragisa Simic, Director of the Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" Zoran Drobnjak, Director of the Meteorological Station Milan Dacic and advisor to the Prime Minister Ivica Toncev.
