Knezevic presented to his interlocutor the agricultural policy of Serbia, the Ministry’s activities and measures included in the Draft law on incentives in agriculture and rural development.
He pointed out that these measures create stability, predictability, enable investments, improve competitiveness and provide a higher level of compliance with EU legislation.
The two officials also discussed projects initiated in the field of the financing of private agribusiness sector which EBRD implements in Serbia, as well as technical cooperation between the two institutions whose aim is the promotion of business activity in Serbia and the creation of favourable climate for potential investors in this field.
The Minister pointed to the importance of cooperation between the EBRD and the small and medium agro-food enterprises in Serbia.
Knezevic explained that the following joint activities with the EBRD will be based on further elaboration of the Draft law on preharvest financing, improvement of the quality policy (protection of geographical origin), the development of public warehouses system and similar, reads the statement by the Ministry.
