Cooperation between Serbia, Republika Srpska in field of European integration

Director of the Office for European Integration Milan Pajevic met with a delegation of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Economic Affairs and Regional Cooperation to present them with the drafting of the action plan for implementation of the recommendations from the report of the European Commission on the progress of reforms in Serbia.

Pajevic presented the National programme for the adoption of the acquis, the document that will be in the future a roadmap of the European integration of our country.

Republika Srpska Minister of Economic Affairs and Regional Cooperation Zeljko Cvijanovic indicated the need to strengthen regional cooperation in this field, adding that this visit is a good opportunity for the training of personnel who work under the competence of the European integration within the ministry.

Cvijanovic said that this visit represents a chance for sharing knowledge and enhancing awareness of the importance of the integration of all countries in the region into the EU.

The delegation of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Economic Affairs and Regional Cooperation is on a two-day working visit to the Office for European Integration .

The aim of the visit is to learn about the activities of the Office in the process of European integration, system coordination of these activities within the government and with the announced new procedures for programming pre-accession assistance from the EU.

During the visit, we will focus on the experience of Serbia in the coordination of monitoring and reporting on the EU accession process, the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, as well as harmonisation with the acquis.

Special attention will be paid to the training of civil servants on these issues, activities in the implementation of communication strategies in the accession process, and establishing a system of translation of EU regulations in the Serbian language.

Also to be discussed will be preparations for the implementation of the Office to IPA 2014-2020, the sectoral approach to programming and support, as well as cross-border cooperation, the statement said the Office for European Integration said.
