Serbia remains committed to promotion of bilateral ties with Russia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic said today in a meeting with the newly appointed Russian Ambassador in Belgrade Alexander Chepurin that Serbia remains committed to further improvement of bilateral relations with that country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Mrkic underlined there are traditionally friendly relations and deep historical, cultural, linguistic and religious affinity between Serbia and Russia.
Chepurin stated his willingness to contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
He pointed out that the first opportunity for the next meeting will be the meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Serbia and the Russian Federation, which will be held in Moscow on 15-16 November this year, the statement added.
