Determined fight against organised crime, corruption

Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic said today in a meeting with Director of the UN Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention Yuri Fedotov that systemic to fight against organised crime and corruption at all levels is necessary.

Selakovic said that one of the priorities of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, as well as of the entire Serbian government, is to keep on with decisive and firm policy of "zero tolerance" in the fight against organised crime and systemic corruption.
The Minister pointed to the fact that Serbia has two special prosecutors – for war crimes and for organised crime, but that there is no prosecutor who specialises in corruption.
Fedotov stressed the importance of international cooperation in the fight against crime and corruption, and expressed satisfaction with the government policy of "zero tolerance" towards such behaviours.
During the meeting, both sides reiterated their willingness to further successful cooperation, according to a statement by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
