Cooperation of Ministry of Health, UN in prevention of substance abuse

Minister of Health Slavica Djukic- Dejanovic talked today with Airector of the UN Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention Yuri Fedotov on prevention in the field of substance abuse and treatment of HIV-infected persons.
The Ministry of Health said that Fedotov’s visit is very important especially as it was organised on the UN Day, which has a certain symbolic value.
The topics discussed included all preventive, and rehabilitative procedures that the Ministry of Health intends to organise and control.
Fedotov presented an idea on certain regional projects in which Serbia and the relevant ministry would be included, as one of important partners in this field.
The two officials agreed that the issues of trafficking in psychoactive substances, organised crime and improvement of safety in the region are also linked to the issues for which the Serbian Ministry of Health and Serbia’s health system are directly responsible, it is added in the statement.
