Stronger cooperation between Serbia, Azerbaijan in all remits

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic today stressed at a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Araz Azimov that the Serbian government is committed to further developing and strengthening cooperation and ties with Azerbaijan in all areas.

The Ministry says in a statement that Azimov, who is in charge of security issues and foreign policy planning, is leading an Azerbaijani delegation at bilateral consultations with Serbian representatives regarding security policy.
Mrkic thanked Baku on its principled support to the preservation of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, stressing that Belgrade equally endorses the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Azimov underlined the readiness to further strengthen political and economic relations, especially in the energy sector, stressing that Baku sees Belgrade as its strategic partner in the Western Balkans.
