Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic stated yesterday at a meeting with British Ambassador to Serbia Michael Davenport that a systemic approach to the improvement of the judicial system is the only way to protect and help citizens exercise their rights.
During the meeting Selakovic underlined that the first steps to overcoming the crisis in the Serbian judiciary have already been made.
He recalled that judges and prosecutors who were not re-elected have been reinstated, noting that working groups tasked with amending more than ten judicial laws will soon complete the drafts.
The Minister announced the formation of a working group for drafting a judicial reform strategy for the next five years, as well as an action plan for the strategy, reads the Ministry’s statement.
