Germany’s continued support to process of European integration of Serbia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic met today with new German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm and expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries will be intensified in all areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Mrkic pointed to the fact that Germany is the most important trade partner of Serbia, and highlighted the importance of Berlin's role in the EU.
He emphasised that Serbia and Germany share common values and understanding that Belgrade expects and counts on the support of Berlin in achieving full membership in the EU.
Wilhelm said that Serbia belongs in Europe and that the EU will not be complete without Serbia.
He said that Berlin will continue to support Serbia in the process of European integration and stressed his readiness to contribute to the further strengthening of the overall relations between the two countries.
