In order to secure regular supply and protection of the market, the Serbian government adopted a decree binding manufacturers to produce and sell bread made of T-500 flour in the amount of at least 40% of the daily production of bread.
According to this decision, the retail price of a loaf of bread made of T-500 flour can be up to RSD 48.5, although producers demanded the price of RSD 54.
The dealers are also required to have at least 40% of T-500 flour bread in their daily supply of all types of bread. The penalties for violation of this decree will be up to RSD 2 million.
The Serbian government authorised the Directorate for Commodity Reserves to make like-kind exchange of up to 40 tons of maize for fattening cattle with primary producers.
The parities in the like-kind exchange are: 8.77 kilograms of maize per kilogram of porkers and 8.89 kilograms of maize per kilogram of beef cattle.
The objective of this decision is to support the preservation of livestock in Serbia.
