The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) today held the first session in its new mandate and decided to respond to a total of 20 requests by the tribunal’s prosecution and Secretariat, as well as the indictees’ defence attorneys.
The session discussed the current situation between Serbia and the tribunal in areas that are under the competence of the Council, namely granting access to documentation, state organs’ archives and witnesses.
It was concluded that there are no overdue requests by the defence or the prosecution.
The National Council will continue to take the necessary measures to make sure cooperation in this remit is unimpeded.
