The National Council for Economic Recovery at its first meeting today, chaired by the Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, assessed that Serbia's economy is in an extremely difficult situation and that economic recovery is a national priority.
Emergency measures that the Serbian government has prepared to relieve the economy and cut public spending are the first step in building a foundation for the consolidation of the Serbian economy, the Council said.
It was agreed that the Council makes an analysis of the state of the economy, a short-term anti-crisis programme and a plan for the recovery of the economy.
