Government forms National Council for Economic Recovery

The government established at today's meeting the National Council for Economic Recovery to be chaired by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic.

The Council will review the state of the economy of Serbia and prepare measures for the economic recovery and boosting economic development. The Council has three vice presidents and 21 members, including prominent businesspeople, bankers and economists.

At today's session, the government also formed the National Agrarian Council, which should analyse the situation in agriculture, agricultural production and the marketing of agricultural products and the preparation of measures for the improvement of agriculture in Serbia.

The Serbian government also adopted an instruction how representatives of the state authorities should act at regional cooperation meetings where officials from the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina are present.

This instruction foresees asymmetric representation of provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina and stipulates that along the table with "Kosovo *" (Kosovo with an asterisk), all supporting documents must include the footnote text at least on the first mention in each of the documents.

This instruction was adopted in order to avoid damage caused by the absence of representatives of state bodies at regional meetings. By being absent from regional events, based on the obligations arising from the previous instruction, the representatives of the Republic of Serbia were deprived of the opportunity to represent the Serbian government policy towards Kosovo-Metohija and the interests of the Republic of Serbia. Also by being absent from the regional meetings, the Republic of Serbia has suffered direct and indirect economic losses.

Representatives of government bodes are obligated to require the hosts of the meetings and EU representatives that strict application of the presentation of the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina is applied, without the display of the flag or other symbols, and will also require the presence of representatives of UNMIK.

If the representatives of the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina are not presented in accordance with this instruction, the representatives of the Serbian state bodies will leave and will submit a written protest to the organiser.
