Former French President Jacques Chirac asked Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic to back the Council of Europe’s Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health.
"The Council of Europe has adopted this convention which is the first binding legal instrument in the area of criminal law which criminalises counterfeiting, as well as the production and distribution of fake medical products and introduces measures of prevention and protection of victims.
Serbia’s support is of crucial importance and will help save thousands of lives“, reads the letter sent by the former French President to the Prime Minister of Serbia.
The Convention has been so far signed by 51 heads of state and competent officials of international organisations.
