Belgrade, 29 Aug 2012 –Minister of Health Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and Head of the Council of Europe in Serbia Antje Rothemund today expressed readiness to continue with the successful cooperation, especially in terms of incentives to respect human rights and human dignity.

The Ministry of Health said that Djukic-Dejanovic announced that the draft law on the protection of patients' rights will be discussed in public and will be sent to parliament.
She pointed out that one of the major plans of the Ministry is to improve work in health care segments in the social welfare institutions and prisons, as well as health care of those dependent on psychoactive substances under the age of 18.
Rothemund congratulated Djukic-Dejanovic on her appointment as Minister of Health.
She accepted the invitation by Djukic-Dejanovic to attend the opening of a regional centre for health development in the field of accreditation and quality assurance of health care within the Health Network of South East Europe on 4 October, the statement added.
