Construction of Corridor 11 main priority

Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milutin Mrkonjic said yesterday in a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgrade Eldar Hasanov that the government’s main priority is the construction of road Corridor 11 in Serbia.

The Ministry said in a statement that Mrkonjic and Hasanov discussed a series of issues concerning the implementation of the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Serbia and the construction companies "Corridors of Serbia" and "Az Virt".

The two officials exchanged experiences in the implementation of all technical details related to ongoing activities on the construction of Corridor 11 from Ljig to Preljina, where work is performed by "Az Virt".

Hasanov said that cooperation between the two countries on this project represents a unique example of openness and mutual trust and respect.

He also said that the Azerbaijani company is facing some difficulties, but expressed belief that they will certainly be overcome.

He said that "Az Virt" wants to show on the example of Serbia that it can perform work on a high European level.

Mrkonjic said that any doubts and uncertainties will be resolved, and that all obstacles will be removed in the next ten days, especially in terms of land acquisition.

The Minister pointed out that the company "Corridors of Serbia" was formed with a view of operationalisation of the whole job in order to solve the current problems fast, the statement added.
