The Serbian Commission on Missing Persons stated that at a local cemetery in Donji Rajic, Novska municipality, Croatia, exhumation of the remains of Serbs killed in the Croatian military and police Operation Bljesak (Flash) began today.
The statement adds that President of the Serbian Commission on Missing Persons Veljko Odalovic attended the beginning of exhumation, adding that samples of all remains will be taken for DNA analysis.
In line with interstate agreements signed with Croatia, the Serbian Commission on Missing Persons will take part in the exhumations in the observer capacity.
With exhumations at the cemetery in Donji Rajic the process to exhume the bodies of victims killed in Operation Bljesak now continues. It began in June 2010.
So far the remains of 110 victims have been exhumed at the local cemetery in Medari (remains of 28 persons), town cemetery in Okucani (34) and local cemetery in Vrbovljani (48). The remains of 36 bodies have already been identified and delivered to their families.
