The National Security Council called upon the international missions UNMIK, KFOR and EULEX to prevent within their mandates all attempts of provisional authorities in Pristina aimed at causing instability and fear among the Serbian population and refrain from the use of force against unprotected citizens of the province.
Also, the Council has appealed to citizens to refrain from conflicts with members of international missions and thus contribute to calming the situation.
The Council reiterated that all the problems in Kosovo-Metohija must be resolved through dialogue, without violence, which is the only path to stability in the whole region.
The session of the National Security Council was chaired by President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, and the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, the ministers of defence, the interior and justice, the chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, the director of the Security and Intelligence Agency and the heads of the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency.
