The statement adds that Minister Milutin Mrkonjic met with World Bank representatives and stated that Serbia’s cooperation with this financial institution has been quite satisfactory for many years.
This is a good basis for the World Bank’s active participation in future projects, especially in terms of increasing road safety and road rehabilitation and maintenance, the Minister observed.
World Bank representatives affirmed that these funds will be earmarked from new loans to Serbia, which total €500 million, adding that their approval will be verified in 2013.
The meeting highlighted that the large number of activities, which the World Bank is financing in Serbia, are unfolding as planned, with adherence to deadlines, which directly affects the drawing of funds from loan arrangements.
World Bank representatives stressed that all current issues directly affecting the dynamics of works must be resolved faster, especially on Corridor 10 where expropriation has not yet been completed, the statement adds.
