Stankovic at meeting of EU health ministers in Denmark

Minister of Health Zoran Stankovic will participate in an informal meeting of health ministers of EU member states to be held today and tomorrow in Horsens, Denmark.

The statement of the Ministry of Health said that the central theme of the meeting is improvement of the strategy " Smart Health (Wise management of health resources) – A Better Life".
The ministers today had the opportunity to discuss how to strengthen the social and health care in Europe with the use of new health technologies.
Stankovic and his EU colleagues visited the Regional Hospital in Horsens, which is an example of how innovative technology can improve health care and patient treatment.
This hospital is specialised for electronic health care which, through increased efficiency and effectiveness, ensures the accessibility of health data on all participants in the health system, in line with their roles and responsibilities.
The second day of the meeting will be devoted to chronic disease control, because these conditions, such as cardiovascular, malignant and chronic obstructive lung diseases, have been the main cause of death in the world in the past two decades.
Stankovic will tomorrow meet with his counterparts from Croatia, Slovenia, Cyprus and Denmark, the statement adds.
