Minister of Health Zoran Stankovic spoke today with Cuban Ambassador in Serbia Mercedes Martinez Valdes and the embassy’s First Secretary Gilfredo Milanes Molina about cooperation between Serbia and Cuba in the field of health.
The two countries’ officials discussed the possibility of making available the homeopathic medicines as well as vaccines that are used for the treatment of cancer in Cuba to patients in Serbia.
This will be done in accordance with the existing legal procedures regulating the registration and marketing of drugs, given that a large number of patients in Serbia are interested in this type of therapy.
At the meeting it was agreed to organise an expert conference at the end of April at which a delegation of Cuban doctors would present to Serbian oncologists the results achieved in the treatment of malignant diseases.
The meeting also looked at the exchange of medical students, as well as the possibilities for marketing drugs of the Serbian pharmaceutical industry in Latin America, the statement adds.
