The Ministry of Defence announced that defence ministers of all EU member states today made a unanimous decision to allow the Republic of Serbia to start joining an administrative arrangement with the European Defence Agency (EDA).
The statement specifies that the aforementioned decision was taken at today's meeting the agency, adding that the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton got the mandated to immediately start negotiations with Serbia.
Next week, the EDA Director will send all necessary information about the negotiations.
The request for inclusion in the EDA was submitted after the signing of two agreements with the EU in mid last year – on the exchange of classified information and involvement in the mission of the Union.
