The Ministry says in a statement that the meeting discussed the issue of paying out legally guaranteed social entitlements in 2012 and initiatives to amend the current Law on labour.
Speaking about the Ministry’s budget, Ljajic stressed that by the end of the year, all social entitlements will be paid out regularly, although the number of welfare beneficiaries has increased in 2012.
As for initiatives to amend the Law on labour, especially the provisions pertaining to severance payments, the Minister said that at the moment there is no consensus of all social partners to amend this legal act.
Ljajic and Murgasova said that amendments to the labour law are necessary in order to improve the business climate and make Serbia even more attractive for foreign investments.
