Jeremic to visit Togo

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic is on a one-day visit to the Republic of Togo today, where he will meet with Togoan Prime Minister Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo and Foreign Minister Elliott Ohin.
According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Togo was selected for a member of the UN Security Council to represent the African group of countries for a period of two years and will chair that body in February, when the next meeting discussing UNMIK’s report will be held.
Togo has not recognised the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija, the statement recalls, adding that apart from the Kosovo issue, Jeremic and his hosts will discuss other matters related to the Security Council as well as the possibility of re-establishing economic cooperation, which was very extensive at the time of SFRY.
