Minister of Economy winner of " Reformer of the Year" award

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric was named today the winner of the "Reformer of the Year" thanks to the results made during his short term in office.
The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED), which awarded the prize, said that Ciric helped improve the liquidity of the private sector and introduce provision that obliges the authorities to settle their obligations to the economy within 60 the day.
In the period since he became minister to date laws for the effective functioning of the economy have been enacted, primarily the Law on companies and the Law on consensual financial restructuring of companies, whose positive effects are only expected in the future. During that period, implementation of the Programme of subsidising jobs continued, while a new Regulation on employment contributed to the fact that approximately nine thousand people got jobs this year.
The Law on public-private partnerships was also adopted, which introduces new opportunities for financing infrastructure projects of common interest and represents another important step in European integration. In the absence of Ciric, who is on official trip to the United States, the award was received by Special Adviser to the Ministry of Economy Nenad Ilic.
This year's winners of "The Reformer of the Year" award also include Director of the EU Integration Office Milica Delevic, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic, head of the Centre for the legality of the software in the Tax Administration Dejan Vidojevic, assistant editor-in-chief of NIN Milan Culibrk and Indjija Mayor Goran Jesic. This award promotes the importance of regulatory reform in our country and best practices in that area.
