The funding of approximately €3.4 million is intended for this competition as part of the second component of the EU’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance – IPA.
The second call for proposals was published on 15 August this year, and the deadline for submission of all required documents expired on 14 November.
Funds from this call will be used by non-profit legal entities registered in Serbia or Montenegro for joint projects that involve partnership between organisations from the two countries.
A total of 101 projects proposals arrived. The value of individual projects will range from €60,000 to €600,000, of which the EU will provide 85% while the remaining 15% should be provided from own sources.
Cross-border cooperation programmes are the EU’s instrument to support institutional cooperation in border areas of neighbouring states.
In Serbia, over 200 projects have been supported since 2004.
Eight programmes are currently under way – with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as the Adriatic Programme and the "Southeast Europe" programme.
