This agreement contributes to the UN stand-by arrangement signed in New York.
The Minister stressed the strong contribution of Serbia to maintaining peace and the intention for the Ministry and SAF members to be more intensely engaged under UN auspices in the coming period.
The system of stand-by arrangement represents a data base as well as defining the capacities which will be placed at the UN’s disposal.
By including Serbia into a system of stand-by arrangement, the procedure and time needed to deploy capacities in multinational operations will be greatly shortened, which is crucial for getting the approval of the UN for participation of our forces in peace operations.
