Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac is taking part in the third Security Forum in Halifax, Canada, dedicated to global and regional security issues, the experience of countries participating in certain security areas and possibilities of multilateral and bilateral cooperation.

The Ministry of Defence announced that the Minister took part in a debate entitled "Beyond borders: transnational crime and illegal trade".
The theme of this panel was the need for regional and global cooperation in fighting organised crime and trafficking and the importance of information exchange.
Sutanovac presented the experiences of Serbia, the institutions that were established for this purpose and the legislative framework to fight organised crime in Serbia.
He recalled the successful actions that have been taken in cooperation with competent authorities of the countries of the region and beyond.
He spoke with the host the Security Forum, Canadian National Defence Minister Peter MacKay on topics related to global challenges of security, with special emphasis on bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Canada.
On the sidelines of the Security Forum in Halifax, the Defence Minister met with Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
The three-day Security Forum in Halifax forum brings together a large number of ministers of defence and security forces officials, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society organisations from 35 countries worldwide.
