President of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Rasim Ljajic and ICTY Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz agreed that the cooperation between Serbia and the tribunal’s Prosecutor’s Office is conducted at a high professional level and that there are no open issues.
The cooperation takes place in the field of submitting documentation, providing insight into archives of state authorities and witnesses, and in all other technical aspects that fall under the competence of the National Council.
It was agreed that the issue of investigation in the case of support network of former fugitives is one of the technical aspects of Serbia's cooperation with the tribunal and is not a new condition of the tribunal to Serbia, and that the resolution of this issue is expected from the competent authorities of Serbia.
Some trials that are currently conducted by the tribunal were also looked at, reads a statement by the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY.
