Great interest of Chinese companies for doing business in Serbia

Belgrade, 6 October 2011

Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milutin Mrkonjic and China's Ambassador to Serbia Zhang Wanxue today agreed that during Mrkonjic’s visit to China many deals with Chinese companies are to be finally confirmed, including a credit line from Exim Bank.

Mrkonjic said that there is a great interest shown by Chinese companies for jobs in transportation and energy infrastructure in Serbia, with special emphasis on the modernisation of the railway on Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 and the construction of road from Belgrade to Bar.

Mrkonjic also stressed the interest of the Chinese side for the privatisation of JAT Tehnika that wants to invest in aircraft maintenance company in Europe.

Wanxue said that China will always support cooperation of companies between the two countries when it comes to their common interest, according to a statement of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
