The first civilian aircraft landed today at Morava Airport near Kraljevo, which had previously functioned only as a military airport, and once the planned investment works are completed, it will be a mixed military-civilian airport.

The passengers included Serbian President Boris Tadic, Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac, Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric and Turkish Ambassador to Belgrade Ali Riza Çolak.
Tadic stressed that the landing of the aircraft at Morava Airport confirms that the airport can receive smaller ATR vessels, noting that next year it will be fully renovated to serve as a civilian airport.
This entire region – Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Krusevac, and even Uzice and Novi Pazar – now has a new airport that will be of use to citizens and facilitate new investment, the President said.
The Minister of Defence announced earlier that civilian airport Morava will be ready for a promotional flight in October, while in spring it will be ready for regular traffic of smaller planes with up to 60 passengers.
The investment totals €32 million and Serbia’s investment partner is Turkey which donated €10 million.
