Serbian Deputy Minister of Justice Branislav Bjelica and Head of the Belgrade office of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) Adriano Martins met today to discuss results of cooperation between the ministry and the EAR as well as future projects in which the EAR’s assistance would be crucial.
The two officials agreed that cooperation between the ministry and the EAR has been very productive so far and has resulted in the implementation of several important projects in the field of judiciary.
Given that the implementation of these projects was much faster in Serbia than in other countries in the region, the EAR will be allocated an additional €1.5 million towards its Judiciary and Internal Affairs budget, reads a statement.
Bjelica stressed that the ministry is satisfied with the cooperation with the EAR and he welcomed personal involvement by Martins in the agency’s activities relating to assistance to Serbia’s judiciary.
