Serbia, Angola have excellent opportunities for cooperation

Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac said at the end of his official visit to Angola that there are great possibilities for cooperation with this country in the field of defence, but also in the field of the economy since it is a country that is developing rapidly.

Sutanovac spoke with President of Angola Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Speaker of the Parliament Roberto Antonio Victor Francisco de Almeida and Minister of Defence Candido Pereira dos Santos Van-Dunem.
He pointed out that Angolan officials expressed great interest in the reconstruction of military bases and construction of factories for production of ammunition and uniforms, and announced that very soon our country’s military industry will get projects in Angola.
Angolan officials also expressed interest in cooperating with Serbian universities, especially in education of their nationals at the Serbian University of Defence.
Sutanovac specified that they discussed education of Angolan officers and cadets in Serbia, and of representatives of civil society.
Sutanovac said that the most important part of discussions was related to cooperation in the field of military health care and the possibility for construction of a military hospital in Luanda after the model of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.
During the several-day visit to Angola, the delegation of the Serbian Ministry of Defence had talks at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Angola, visited military schools, a military hospital and air force and naval base.
Sutanovac laid a wreath at the monument to the first president of Angola, Antonio Agostinho Neto, reads the statement of the Ministry of Defence.
