President of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia Rasim Ljajic spoke today with the Tribunal’s Chief Prosecutor, Serge Brammertz, during his working visit to Belgrade.
The two officials agreed that the cooperation between Serbia and the Tribunal’s Prosecutor's Office has run smoothly and at a highly professional level for a longer period of time when it comes to submission of documents, access to archives of state bodies and witnesses, as well as in all other technical aspects of cooperation which fall under the competence of the National Council for Cooperation with the Tribunal.
They also agreed that with the arrest of Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic Serbia completed cooperation with the Tribunal in its most important aspect, the surrender of the accused, thereby proving commitment to fulfilling its international obligations.
