In a statement the Ministry said that Ivanov and Sutanovac talked about the importance of such cooperation is the fight against organised crime and global terrorism, which are largely financed from the proceeds of drug sale.
The meeting particularly emphasised the need to engage police and army members in finding ways of cutting smuggling routes.
The two officials exchanged views on the challenges and dangers that drug trafficking has on the security of states and citizens, especially in the Western Balkans.
They concluded that these challenges require a broader regional and global cooperation, the statement added.
