Development of bilateral relations between Serbia, US in defence

Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac presented today US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker with the results achieved in the process of the defence system reform.
The Minister stressed the importance of a well-developed bilateral defence cooperation which is the best part of the overall Serbia-US cooperation.
Sutanovac reiterated the official position of Serbia regarding the solution of the crisis on Kosovo-Metohija stressing that only dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade could add to finding adequate solutions to this matter.
The Minister pointed out that Pristina’s unilateral moves only exacerbate the current situation and destabilise the region, and noted that this can very easily jeopardise the whole negotiation process, which has just started to give first results.
Reeker thanked Serbia for its commitment to dialogue and diplomatic activities to reach an agreement at the negotiating table.
The continuation of dialogue is an excellent opportunity to overcome all administrative and technical problems that led to a crisis in Kosovo, he said.
Reeker also thanked Sutanovac for efforts he has invested in the development of bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States because it is an important precondition for improving relations between the two countries.
