By returning buses of transporters from central Serbia from the administrative crossings, the interim authorities in Kosovo-Metohija are making a gross violation of the civilisational norm of freedom of movement and are exerting additional pressure on the Serbian population in the southern province.
Such a move of Pristina authorities is an attempt to institutionalise the pressure on the Serbs and members of other communities, whose freedom of movement has already been limited for over 11 years due to the fear from Albanian extremists.
The interim authorities in Pristina thus disavow the implementation of the agreement on the freedom of movement reached during dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The Serbian government requests from the UN, which is the protector of Kosovo-Metohija, and from the EU to prevent the attempts of interim authorities in Pristina to disrupt the freedom of movement in the southern Serbian province, reads the statement by the Serbian government.
