First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic, Police Chief Milorad Veljovic, members of the Serbian Army and the diplomatic corps attended today to marking of the Day of the Gendarmerie.

Members of the Gendarmerie demonstrated a high level of competence to confront terrorism, which is also one of the tasks of the Interior Ministry.
Gendarmerie units from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kraljevo successfully beseiged and neutralised terrorist groups.
The Gendarmerie was formed on 23 June 2001, and today's exercise is a continuation of the tradition of Serbian Gendarmerie, which was founded 151 years ago.
