Remains of 34 Serbs killed in operation “Bljesak” exhumed

The Serbian government’s Commission for Missing Persons stated that at the cemetery in Vrbovljani (Western Slavonia), the competent authorities of Croatia started on 10 May the process of exhumation of remains of victims of the Serbian nationality who were killed in the operation of the Croatian Army and police "Bjlesak" (Flash).
So far 34 remains have been exhumed of which samples were taken for identification by DNA analysis.
The samples were transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine and Criminology at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, where their identification will be carried out.
The exhumation is expected to be continued on 16 May and it will be attended by President of the Commission for Missing Persons Veljko Odalovic and the commission’s monitoring team.
The exhumation should last three days more, it is added in the statement.
