Police prevent attempt to cross border illegally at Batrovci

The Ministry of the Interior stated that border police at Batrovci prevented five Albanian nationals from Kosovo-Metohija from crossing the border with travel documents from Sweden and heading off to Western Europe.
The statement adds that the Albanian nationals were uncovered thanks to increased border control, conducted with the aim of preventing abuse of visa liberalisation.
Two Swedish citizens of Albanian origin organised this attempt to transfer across border three persons in a BMW, using travel documents issued to other Swedish citizens.
The organisers will be taken before the judge of the Basic Court in Sremska Mitrovica on grounds of reasonable doubt that they committed a crime of smuggling human beings.
