Implementation of strategies, action plans must be sped up

The Ministry of the Interior stated that from 26 April until today an expert mission tasked with monitoring visa liberalisation was visiting Serbia to verify the continuous implementation of required measures.
The expert mission was supposed to check whether Serbia has continued implementing standards and adjusting regulations and procedures with those of the EU.
A preliminary report is positive for all supervised areas, with a remark stating that the implementation of strategies and action plans adopted so far should be accelerated.
The expert mission contemplated remits from the road map, such as document safety, border management and management of the administrative line with Kosovo-Metohija, migration management, fight against organised crime and corruption, fundamental human and minority rights, foreign relations and fundamental rights.
The expert mission was composed of EU experts and talks with Serbian representatives were also attended by representatives from the European Commission and the EU Delegation to Serbia.
